Why are built-on roller shutters right for you?

A built-on roller shutter is a roller shutter that is installed together with your windows. The box is mounted on top of the window profile, creating a sleek whole with your joinery. Because the boxes are insulated as standard, you retain warmth or coolness and enjoy extra comfort.

For added convenience, choose electric operation, optionally supported by home automation solutions such as the Selve Home Server or the Somfy TaHoma Switch.

✔️ Insulated box: insulated as standard, less heat loss and no thermal bridges
✔️ Sleek, made-to-measure design: box concealed or finished in the colour of your choice
✔️ Flexible: suitable for PVC, aluminium and timber windows
✔️ Efficient installation: fitted together with your windows, with no additional works
✔️ Comfortable: blackout, noise-reducing and burglar-resistant

“When installing new windows, most people do not want an extra thermal bridge or a solution that looks like it was added afterwards. A built-on roller shutter forms one seamless unit with your windows and immediately provides extra insulation and a neat finish.”

What is the difference between a built-on roller shutter and a surface mounted roller shutter?

A built-on roller shutter is installed together with your windows. The box is mounted on top of the window profile and integrates neatly with your joinery – ideal for new builds or when you are replacing your windows. A surface mounted roller shutter is mounted on the façade, without any demolition work. That makes it the best solution for renovation projects where you are keeping your existing windows.

Can a built-on roller shutter also be fitted indoors?

A roller shutter is always mounted on the outside to keep out sunlight and heat. What you see indoors is only the box of the built-on roller shutter. We finish it neatly in the same colour or foil as your windows and interior, so that it blends in beautifully.

What does a built-on roller shutter cost?

The cost of built-on roller shutters depends on the dimensions, the material (PVC or aluminium slats) and the finish, but also on the windows chosen. Would you like an exact price? Your Wilms dealer will be happy to prepare a quote tailored to your home.
