Which roller shutters suit you?

Are you building, renovating or simply looking for more comfort? Wilms has a suitable roller shutter for every situation. You can choose from three main types: built-in, built-on and surface mounted roller shutters – complemented by specific solutions such as smart ventilation and solar-powered roller shutters. Discover them here.

How much do roller shutters cost on average?

The price of a roller shutter varies because they are always made to measure. On average, expect to pay between €470 and €950 per roller shutter including installation, depending on your choices.

Which factors determine the price?

  • Type: built-in, built-on or surface mounted (with or without solar power)
  • Dimensions: the larger the window or door, the more expensive the roller shutter
  • Installation: a larger model requires more installation work than a smaller roller shutter
  • Finishes and options: slat type (PVC or aluminium), solar power or integration with home automation

A few examples:

  • A motorised surface mounted roller shutter starts from €730 (*) including installation.
  • A made-to-measure motorised built-in roller shutter starts from €470 (*) including installation.
  • A solar-powered surface mounted roller shutter costs slightly more upfront, but requires no cabling or electricity. At Wilms, prices start from €850 including installation (*).

(*) These prices exclude VAT.

“People often initially choose roller shutters for blackout, but then mainly notice how much extra comfort they offer: more privacy, greater security, and a home that feels much more pleasant in both summer and winter.”

Do roller shutters affect my EPC score?

Roller shutters provide extra insulation for your windows. As a result, you lose less heat in winter and keep solar heat out more effectively in summer. This contributes to lower energy consumption and has a positive effect on your EPC score.

Can you get subsidies for roller shutters?

You do not receive direct subsidies for roller shutters, but they do save energy. In some cases, you may still qualify through renovation or insulation grants.

What does a 2-metre-wide roller shutter cost?

For a motorised Wilms surface mounted roller shutter measuring 2 metres wide and 1.80 metres high, you pay on average €880 including installation, excluding VAT. Curious about an exact estimate? Easily request your no-obligation quote.

How do I maintain my roller shutters?

Roller shutters require limited maintenance. At Wilms, we recommend cleaning the slats once or twice a year and lubricating the components annually. Are you experiencing a problem with your roller shutter? We are here to help.

Are roller shutters worth it?

Roller shutters offer greater comfort because they allow you to fully darken your rooms and keep the temperature under better control. In summer, they keep the heat out; in winter, the cold. This helps you save energy and improve your living comfort.

In addition, they provide extra security and privacy and reduce disturbing noise. A high-quality Wilms roller shutter lasts for years and requires little maintenance.

Can I control my roller shutters via an app?

Wilms electric roller shutters are compatible with home automation and a dedicated smartphone app.
