Window ventilation, smartly managed with Airria®

A healthy indoor climate starts with enough fresh air. Yet ventilation is not always straightforward: traditional systems often require major works, ventilation grilles in your interior or extensive duct installations.

With window ventilation powered by Airria® technology, you choose a smart solution that brings in fresh air without heat loss.

This low-maintenance system is mounted on your new windows and operates whisper-quietly and energy-efficiently. That means fresh air and convenience every day, without disruptive building work.

What is window ventilation with Airria® technology?

Airria® is Wilms’ innovative ventilation technology: a decentralised system D with heat recovery. Instead of one large duct network throughout your home, a decentralised system works with separate units in each room. This lets you ventilate room by room without disruptive building work.

Our craftsmen install the compact units directly on the window profile. The ventilation units extract indoor air and bring in fresh outdoor air while retaining heat thanks to the integrated heat exchanger. The result? Healthy air, less energy loss and no ventilation grilles.

The technology was developed in collaboration with the University of Liège.

Why is decentralised window ventilation right for you?

During renovations and phased refurbishment projects, it is often difficult to provide ventilation ducts. Window ventilation is then the perfect solution. The system is easy to install together with your windows, room by room, while still maintaining a healthy indoor climate.

  • Renovation-friendly: installed without demolition work or ductwork
  • Heat recovery up to 75%: keep warmth indoors in winter and enjoy cooler air in summer
  • Invisible design: integrated into the window profile and finished in any RAL colour
  • Whisper-quiet: only 34 dB(A) in standard mode, with no sound transfer between rooms
  • Allergen-free indoor climate: filters keep out pollen, fine dust and insects
  • Easy to maintain: filters are easy to replace yourself
  • Full control: autonomous system with per-room control and options such as boost or night mode

How exactly does Wilms’ Airria® technology work?

Each unit mechanically extracts indoor air and brings fresh outdoor air inside. Thanks to the heat exchanger, that air enters at the right temperature straight away. This gives you healthy indoor air at all times without losing energy. Because each room has its own unit, you decide where and how much you want to ventilate.

Can Airria® also be installed without new windows?

Yes. In addition to window ventilation, Airria® technology is also available for wall ventilation. This is a decentralised type D ventilation system with mechanical air supply and extraction per room, with heat recovery (HRV). The system is installed on the wall, allowing you to ventilate without replacing your windows and without extensive ductwork.

Is decentralised window ventilation suitable for renovations?

Decentralised window ventilation is suitable for renovation projects, and that is in fact Airria®’s biggest advantage. In renovation projects, there is often no space or budget for extensive ductwork. With window ventilation, you can ventilate room by room, exactly when you replace your windows or renovate part of your home.

How much energy can I save with heat recovery?

Airria®’s heat exchanger recovers up to 75% of the energy from the extracted air. In winter, this means retaining warmth without extra heating. In summer, you can do the opposite and let in cool outdoor air at night for natural cooling. The result is a comfortable indoor climate with a lower energy bill.

What is the difference between a ventilation grille and window ventilation?

A ventilation grille is a passive inlet opening for outdoor air. Window ventilation works mechanically, with both supply and extraction per room, and falls under system D. With heat recovery, part of the heat from the extracted air is recovered, which limits heat loss.

Does a window ventilation system make a lot of noise?

Wilms’ Airria® technology is specially designed to operate whisper-quiet. At just 34 dB(A) in standard mode, you will hardly notice the unit is running. In addition, each unit operates completely independently, so there is no sound transfer between rooms.

How do I maintain the filters?

The system automatically indicates when the filters need to be replaced. There is no need to call a technician: you can easily remove and replace the filters yourself. Use a handheld vacuum cleaner or a soft cloth to clean the filter openings. Within minutes, your unit is ready to supply fresh air again.
