Classroom sun control with solar-powered screens

Berlaar, Belgium

The school 'Heilig Hart van Maria' in Berlaar chose solar-powered surface-mounted screens. A natural fit for a school environment, where a pleasant indoor climate and effective sun control make a real difference in classrooms and shared spaces. The screens block glare and heat, helping keep indoor areas cooler so students and teachers can learn and work more comfortably.

Sustainability is another key advantage. The compact solar panel converts daylight into energy and automatically charges the built-in battery. This allows the screens to operate for long periods without wiring or disruptive works, with at least 30 days of operation in any season. The school therefore combines a practical upgrade with a conscious, energy-efficient choice.

This project was carried out by Joris Menten, one of our partners based in Diest, Belgium.
