Shutter and screen on the south side prevent overheating

Bilzen

In this modern home, solar shading was used very purposefully on the south-facing façade. A shutter upstairs in the bedroom and a screen by the dining area reduce heat build-up and add extra privacy.

In the bedroom, the homeowners chose a built-on roller shutter that was installed together with the window and neatly matches the joinery. It blocks sun and heat when needed and also improves insulation. A surface-mounted screen was fitted in front of the large sliding door in the kitchen. It filters bright sunlight, helps prevent overheating, and keeps the view of the garden fully intact.

A well-considered combination that brings together energy efficiency, added comfort and a calmer indoor climate.

This project was carried out by Nyver, one of our partners based in Lommel.
